If you feel like you’re doing everything “right” and still not seeing the results you want, this might be the piece no one has explained clearly yet.
You’re hitting your workouts. You’re trying to eat well. You’re staying consistent more often than not. And still… your energy feels off, your body isn’t responding the way you expected, and your progress feels slower than it should.
I see this all the time with the women I work with, especially in their 40s and beyond.
What’s often missing has nothing to do with working harder.
It’s your nervous system.
Your nervous system is constantly deciding whether your body feels safe or under threat.
When your body senses stress, it shifts into a “go mode.” This is helpful in short bursts. It’s designed to help you handle challenges and keep moving.
But when that switch stays on all day, every day, your body starts to prioritize survival over everything else.
That includes fat loss, muscle building, digestion, hormone balance, and quality sleep.
You can be following the perfect plan on paper, but if your body is stuck in a stressed state, it will be harder to see progress.
This doesn’t always look dramatic. In fact, most of the women I coach are high functioning and doing a lot for everyone around them.
Here are a few signs I pay attention to:
If that sounds familiar, your body may be spending too much time in a stressed state.
When your body is under constant stress, cortisol stays elevated.
Over time, that can impact how your body uses fuel, stores fat, and regulates blood sugar.
It can also affect your hormones, your cycle, and how you recover from workouts.
This is why some women feel like they have to keep doing more and more just to maintain where they are.
More workouts. Less food. More restriction.
And it still doesn’t feel good.
Your body isn’t looking for more pressure. It’s looking for support.
This is where I like to simplify things.
Nervous system regulation doesn’t have to mean hour-long routines or adding more to your plate. It can be woven into what you’re already doing.
Some of the things I encourage my clients to focus on:
A lot of women come into my world thinking they need to tighten things up.
Be more disciplined. Be more strict. Do more.
What we actually work on is building a system that supports your body instead of constantly pushing against it.
When your nervous system feels more regulated, your body becomes more responsive.
You have better energy. Your workouts feel stronger. Your hunger cues make more sense. Fat loss feels more doable.
And maybe most importantly, you feel more like yourself again.
Inside my 6 week group coaching program, we focus on more than just workouts and macros.
You’ll get a plan that supports your hormones, your lifestyle, and your nervous system so you can see results that actually last.
This includes custom macros, simple workouts, structure with flexibility, and real accountability so you’re not doing this alone.
If you’re tired of spinning your wheels and ready for a smarter approach, I’d love to support you.
